DAMAGING WIND GUSTS AND VERY LARGE HAIL

CONCERN: A thunderstorm just north of Chipman NB is producing 3-5cm hail and severe wind gusts. Please take shelter in its path as it tracks northeast. It may also keep its strength into PEI but it's a bit questionable.

HAZARD TYPE: 100-125km/h wind gusts and ping pong - golf ball or larger hail.

IMPACT: Destructive wind gusts can cause property damage (Some tree damage, localized damage to hydro poles) or turn any loose item into a dangerous projectile, and create unsafe travelling conditions that affect your ability to safely steer your car. Hail can cause damage perhaps significant to vehicles, property, crops, and trees is expected.

PRECAUTIONARY ACTION: You should move to a safe place immediately. Sheds and storage facilities are not safe. Don't take shelter under a tree as it could get blown over. Twigs and small branches could also blow off trees and cause a hazard, so stay inside and away from windows until it is safe.
