"Alberta

Area(s): Central with a focus on the central foothills

Threats: 4-6 cm hail; wind gusts to 120 km/h; tornadoes possible along and near the foothills

Severe thunderstorms are expected to begin this afternoon in 2 areas: first, along the foothills northwest of Calgary; second, along a convergence line sitting near or south of the Capital Region. These thunderstorms will have the potential to produce large to very large hail, damaging wind gusts, and, particularly near the foothills, a tornado."
