Extreme Cold Breaking Temperature Records From as Far Back as 1874!

We've been watching this early cold blast coming in for a while and first posted about it back on Monday:

Here's what Environment Canada wrote in their summary:

"Weather summary for Ontario and the National Capital Region issued by Environment Canada at 9:43 a.m. EST Thursday 22 November 2018.

Discussion.

Numerous record low minimum temperature records were set this morning. A frigid arctic air mass, more typical of mid winter, paid a chilling visit to the province.

Three of the new record low minimum temperatures in Eastern Ontario broke previous record lows that were set before 1900.
