Extreme Cold Breaking Temperature Records From as Far Back as 1874!

Here's what Environment Canada wrote in their summary:

Discussion.
Numerous record low minimum temperature records were set this morning. A frigid arctic air mass, more typical of mid winter, paid a chilling visit to the province.
Three of the new record low minimum temperatures in Eastern Ontario broke previous record lows that were set before 1900.
