"Snow Day" forecast for Tuesday, November 27, 2018
InstantWeather

Disclaimer: Instant Weather has zero authority when it comes to bus and school closures. It is completely up to the school boards, bus companies, and local authorities as well as being up to parents to decide what is best for their children. This is simply our best guess based on our forecast.
Note: We’re only showing the portion of the province where the chance of a snow day is at 10% or higher. If you don’t see your region on the map then it can be assumed that your chances are lower than 10%.
Forecast Explanation: Many areas saw heavy rainfall throughout the day on Monday before transitioning over to heavy snowfall that will continue into the overnight hours. The combinations of very bad road conditions as a result of slush that could freeze with temperatures falling throughout the night and the lingering snow causing reduced visibility will make the morning commute quite messy. Thus, we believe this is sufficient for many school boards (especially rural ones) to cancel buses tomorrow morning throughout Eastern and Central Ontario. Not to mention that the snow will continue throughout the day tomorrow impacting the afternoon commute so that might also be a factor in the decision. Now, this forecast, in particular, we’re not super confident in because there’s a lot of weighting placed on the local road conditions instead of significant snowfall accumulation that would virtually guarantee a snow day. To account for this we’ve gone down one level for most regions we felt iffy on, hence why a lot of regions are a toss up (50%) or leaning towards a snow day (75%) but not guaranteed. It’s not out of the question tomorrow that we see barely any or even no cancellations because of the number of variables.
As always, we'll be up extra early to post any bus cancellations.
We're also going to be live tweeting all the bus cancellations using the #IWSnowDay hashtag. You can view the live feed here even without signing up for Twitter: https://goo.gl/sCC6QJ
