Disclaimer: Instant Weather has zero authority when it comes to bus and school closures. It is completely up to the school boards, bus companies, and local authorities as well as being up to parents to decide what is best for their children. This is simply our best guess based on our forecast.

Forecast Explanation: As we saw this morning, the conditions can vary greatly between school boards and as a result, the cancellations were more sporadic than we expected. A similar scenario is expected for tomorrow morning. Freezing rain this evening and during the early overnight hours will make untreated roads icy with temperatures rising above the freezing mark overnight. In the past, we’ve seen that warmer temperatures and rain doesn’t always improve road conditions, especially in rural areas so we believe there is a good chance of bus cancellations tomorrow. This chance is highest in Eastern and Northeastern Ontario which will see the more extensive freezing rain tonight along with temperatures below the freezing mark lasting longer. Further south and west the chances become lower because temperatures are expected to be much warmer overnight (could get close to the double digits!) and because the school boards cover more urban areas. Now, this is a difficult forecast as this forecast is heavily reliant on road conditions so the actual outcome might turn out to be different from our forecast.

As always, we'll be up extra early to post any bus cancellations.
