Southern Ontario: Snow Day (Bus Cancellation) Forecast for Thursday, February 21, 2019

InstantWeather

Disclaimer: Instant Weather has zero authority when it comes to bus and school closures. It is completely up to the school boards, bus companies, and local authorities as well as being up to parents to decide what is best for their children. This is simply our best guess based on our forecast.

Note: We’re only showing the portion of the province where the chance of a snow day is at 10% or higher. If you don’t see your region on the map then it can be assumed that your chances are lower than 10%.

Forecast Explanation: A rather weak storm system bringing a mix of freezing rain, ice pellets and snow to Central and Eastern Ontario is expected to continue into the overnight hours. The intensity of the precipitation as we get into the morning hours is questionable so the chance of a snow day for many areas is a toss up (50% chance) with lower probability in urban areas and close to Lake Ontario as temperatures will rise above the freezing mark earlier in the night. Outside of Eastern and Central Ontario, the freezing rain will end by midnight at the latest which shouldn’t result in any cancellation tomorrow morning. It’s possible we see a few boards cancel outside of our forecast, but that will be due to local road conditions which aren’t possible to account for.

As always, we'll be up extra early to post any bus cancellations.
