Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued

At 10:02 p.m. Edt, environment canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts and nickel to ping pong ball size hail.

This severe thunderstorm is located near caledon east, moving southeast at 65 km/h.

Locations impacted include: brampton, mississauga, caledon east, sandhill, mayfield, wildfield, east brampton, britannia, malton and lester b. Pearson international airport.

Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Locally heavy rain is also possible.

Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.

The office of the fire marshal and emergency management recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
