Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued

At 9:03 p.m. Cst, environment canada meteorologists are tracking a very dangerous thunderstorm capable of producing destructive wind gusts, nickel to ping pong ball size hail and heavy rain.

Doppler radar indicates potential for wind gusts of 140 km/h on a severe thunderstorm between wilcox and riceton. This thunderstorm is moving very quickly northwards at 70 km/h.

This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Widespread and extremely strong wind gusts can destroy buildings with tornado-like damage, flatten large stands of trees and blow vehicles off the road. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Go indoors and move away from windows and skylights. Lightning kills and injures canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!

Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
