ALBERTA: Environment Canada is Forecasting The Risk of a Tornado, 2-5cm Hail, 110km/h Wind Gusts, & 50mm Rainfall (Thurs, Aug 6, 2020)

A significant thunderstorm forecast today from Environment Canada with the risk of a tornado, 110km/h damaging wind gusts, 50mm rainfall with the potential for isolated flooding, frequent lightning, and 2-5cm damaging hail. Here's what Environment Canada wrote in their forecast:

"Alberta

Area(s): Alberta

Timing: Afternoon to overnight

Threats: 2-5 cm hail, 50 mm/h of rainfall, 90-110 km/h wind gusts, tornado

Thunderstorms are expected to develop over western portions of Alberta this afternoon and evening. With ample heat and moisture, severe thunderstorms with large hail and strong wind gusts will be likely. Also with these storms, there is a risk of a tornado. As the day progresses, storms will move eastwards and form a line with the main threats being large hail, strong wind gusts, and heavy rain lasting into the overnight hours.”
