Tropical Storm Watch issued for:

Tropical storm force winds of possible 60 gusting to 90 km/h over exposed areas from Post-tropical Storm Teddy may occur over the above regions.

Tropical storm force winds ahead of Hurricane Teddy expected to begin affecting southwestern Newfoundland Tuesday evening, with a second band of stronger southerlies expected late Wednesday as the remnamts of Teddy teack west of Port aux Basques

Potential wind gusts: 65 to 100 km/h over exposed areas and along parts of the coast.

Locations: Southwestern coastal Newfoundland from the Burin Peninsula west to Port aux Basques with the strongest winds expected from Ramea west.

Time span: From Tuesday evening into Late Wednesday.

Remarks: The easterlies Tuesday night should get some enhancement from coastal convergence. The second band, due to post-tropical Teddy heading northeast near the Cabot straight will have near storm force southerlies.

A tropical storm watch means that tropical storm conditions (sustained winds near 65 km/h or more) are possible over parts of the region within 36 hours.
