Freezing Rain Warning Issued

Freezing rain is expected or occurring.

Prolonged periods of freezing rain.

Locations: Queens and Kings County.

Time span: Tuesday afternoon to Tuesday evening.

Remarks: Snow and ice pellets will spread across the province early Tuesday, and will change over to ice pellets, then freezing rain, and then to rain over Central and eastern portions of the province by Tuesday evening.

Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
