Weather Advisory Issued

Environment Canada

(Locations listed below description)

Winter weather travel advisory in effect for early this morning.

Brief but intense snowfall expected early this morning.

A swath of snow is expected to continue to move through the Region early this morning. Snowfall rates could be as high as 2 cm per hour in the heaviest bands which could rapidly reduce visibilities to below 1000 m at times.

Total snowfall accumulations of 2 to 4 cm are expected before the snow moves out early this morning.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution due to rapidly accumulating snowfall.

Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
