Extreme Cold Warning Ended

Environment Canada

(Locations listed below description)

A multi-day episode of very cold wind chills continues.

A bitterly cold Arctic air mass has settled over the area. This air mass in combination with 15-20 km/h winds will produce extreme wind chill values near -45 this morning with only a slight improvement expected during the daytime hours. Temperatures will begin to moderate substantially on Tuesday.

Extreme cold puts everyone at risk.

Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.

If it's too cold for you to stay outside, it's too cold for your pet to stay outside.

Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.
