Flash Freeze Warning Issued

Environment Canada

(Locations listed below description)

Temperatures are forecast to fall rapidly. Ponding water, slush, and any falling precipitation will freeze as the temperature drops.

Hazards: Icy surfaces due to a rapid and sudden fall in temperature.

Timing: Tonight.

Discussion: As temperatures fall quickly beginning near or just after midnight with a sharp cold front moving through, rain or freezing rain will change over to flurries. Any water on surfaces is expected to freeze quickly overnight, causing treacherous driving conditions on untreated roads.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.

Flash freeze warnings are issued when a rapid drop in temperature is expected, that can cause water from rain or melted snow on streets and sidewalks to quickly freeze.
