Severe Thunderstorm Warning Replaces Tornado Warning

At 3:12 P.M. Edt, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing torrential rain.

This line of severe thunderstorms is located from mildmay to thornbury, moving East at 70 km/h.

Hazard: Heavy rain with 50 mm or more possible in an hour. Strong wind gusts. Locations impacted include: Durham, Dundalk, markdale, Feversham, pretty River Valley Provincial Park, singhampton, devil's Glen Provincial Park and stayner.

Heavy downpours are likely to cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Rapidly rising Rivers and creeks can sweep away bridges, culverts, buildings, and people. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes.

Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: Large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
