Blowing Snow Advisory Issued

Environment Canada

(Locations listed below description)

Poor visibility in snow and blowing snow is expected or occurring in some locations.

Total snowfall: 10 to 15 cm.

Maximum wind gusts: Northeasterly 60 to 70 km/h.

Locations: Burin Peninsula and Southwestern Avalon Peninsula.

Time span: This morning until this afternoon.

Remarks: Visibilities will deteriorate as freezing precipitation transitions to snow, at times heavy, in conjunction with strong winds and falling temperatures.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.

Blowing snow advisories are issued when winds are expected to create blowing snow giving poor visibility to 800 metres or less for at least 3 hours.
