Winter Storm Warning Replaces Snowfall Warning

Hazardous winter conditions are expected.

Heavy snow continuing.

Where: Howe Sound, Sea to sky Highway, Whistler.

Hazards: Total snowfall accumulation ranging from 25 to 35 cm with highest amounts near Squamish.

Remarks: A significant weather system continues to push across the South Coast this weekend bringing widespread heavy snow from Howe Sound to Whistler. 15 to 25 cm of snow has been reported at Squamish and Whistler since this afternoon.

Total snowfall accumulations of 25 to 35 cm is expected with the highest accumulations near Squamish.

The heavy snow will ease Sunday morning as the weather system exits the Region.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
