Environment Canada

(Locations listed below description)

Near zero visibility in dense fog and freezing fog

when: Today and tonight.

Where: North Peace River District including Fort St. John, alaskan Highway. South Peace River District including Dawson Creek and cheywynd.

Hazard: Slippery surfaces due to ice accretion in areas of freezing fog.

Remarks:

atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of dense fog. While the dense fog may lift temporarily this afternoon, it's expected to redevelop again this evening and persist overnight. For the South Peace River Region, the most dense fog is expected mostly over northern sections.

Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
