Winter Storm Warning Replaces Snowfall Warning

Hazardous travel conditions due to heavy snowfall.

Where: Highway 3 - Kootenay pass and Paulson Summit.

When: Tonight into Tuesday.

Other hazards: Reduced visibility in heavy snow.

Remarks:

a disturbance will continue to bring snow at times heavy to Kootenay pass and Paulson Summit before tapering off Tuesday afternoon. Snow levels will hover near 1300 metres through the event.

As of 10 P.M. pst, Monday Nov. 6th, Kootenay pass has already received up to 15 cm of snow and Paulson Summit 10 cm. Additional amounts of 5 to 15 cm is expected through tonight to Tuesday afternoon.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.

Weather in the Mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.
