Alberta: Thunderstorm Forecast for Sunday, July 30, 2023

Isolated thunderstorms are expected to pop up across much of Alberta on Sunday afternoon and evening. A few of these storms could reach severe levels with the primary concern being hail up to the size of golf balls and 100 km/h wind gusts.

The strongest severe threat is in Southeastern Alberta from Drayton Valley through Calgary/Red Deer and into Medicine Hat. This is where we have a ‘sight’ severe risk. While further north, we have an ‘isolated’ severe risk for Grande Prairie, Slave Lake and Edson. An isolated tornado can’t be ruled out with an of these storms.
